This is my boss Jeff’s daughter Alyssa contemplating her next activity in Avalon. Portraits of children are so amazing – that innocence can so often be perfectly captured and imparted in photographs. Alyssa, though, is one of a kind. Aside from the fact that she pretty much runs around Catalina like she owns it, she can also bring a whole dining room full of sleepy adults to levels of mayhem not often encountered. That’s the reason I love this capture: she’s so peaceful. Just blonde hair, sunshine, and youth. Alyssa was also featured here.

Tully this is beautiful. I love that you can’t see what she’s looking at, can’t even tell if her eyes are open. You can’t even really tell how old she is - I’d think she was a lot older than she looks in the other shot. I love the light on her hair and her shoulder and the darkness everywhere else. Its so awesome a shot.
