Rooftops and Water Towers

I imagine these pre-war New York rooftops and water towers looked much the same back when the buildings were first built. It’s interesting to think that the roofs have remained unchanged, while things at street level have evolved so drastically.
I really like this image too. The water towers are a surprise!
