It’s pretty crazy how many people ride bikes in Munich. I guess much of it has to do with the fact that gas is the equivalent of like 700 US dollars per gallon, but still. A few weeks ago it snowed almost a foot here, and there were still 50 year old men in suits biking to work.
On my last post, I mentioned a photoblog that I enjoyed, and I’m thinking of keeping that up. There are tons of blogs that I look at every day, and I’d like to share them, as well as write them down so that I can keep track of all of these great sites. A site that I’ve been paging through recently is Fakecactus. This site features image after image with bold colors, deep contrast, and interesting subjects. There are also an incredible variety of styles ranging from macro to black and white to portaits. I’m particularly fond of the shots of Auckland, NZ because they remind me of the semester that I lived there.
Personal favorites include:
Auckland
Model NZ
Contrail Minimalism
Really interesting differences in light throughout this shot - what a great effect!
