The Sound of the Rain on Your Head

I finally went out and took pictures for a while on Sunday morning. The weather was wild - cloudy and spitting rain with gale force winds for the second time in three days. The tallship Tole Mour was moored just off Toyon Bay, and made for some nice visuals. This photo is very bizarre, and though I’m not sure it works, I liked it enough to post it. Some of my friends said they really liked it, and they’re usually more right than I am.

I made a mix for my photo journey on Sunday, and with the rain, heavy wind and crazy weather, a few songs struck me as perfect for the occasion. So along with this image, I suggest listening to the Cassettes Won’t Listen remix of Midlake’s song Young Bride. Although that song is incredible on its own, the added beat makes it a perfect song for watching chaos while being isolated from it by a nice pair of headphones.

I’ll also throw Fair by Annuals out there, too, which has been a recent favorite of mine. The lyrics are amazing; how is the brainchild of this band only 19 years old?

This is beautiful Tulls. I love that the stone outcropping is so much bigger than the ship, which you know is huge. I love how still it is, and the greys. Really nice shot.

beau noir et blanc qui met en valeur le gout du large et les risques de la terre.

I love this photo. It’s a little reminicent of Pirates of the Carribean, no?
