“I recently returned from a trip to Nepal and this is one of my favorite photos. This image was taken in the “old city” of Kathmandu. These little girls were simply doing what they probably did everyday, which was sell their family’s vegetables on the street. The extreme poverty in Nepal prevents some children from being able to attend school and affords them less playtime, but in this snapshot they are just two happy little girls you could find anywhere. Seeing us mesmerized them (us being Americans) and they happily posed for the photo. It was taken with a digital camera which allowed us to show them the image and they squealed when they saw their faces on the viewfinder.”

An awesome happy shot.

That’s a lovely shot. You can tell that they are poor, but the main thing that comes across is that they are happy.

Very emotional shot, it really shows that they are happy and tells us, that money isn’t the most important thing in the world, well done!

Very memorable image–Makes me wonder how the two girls would’ve looked with the photographer included as well. (?)
