The Dimming Divide

This is uninspired at best, but I haven’t the energy to put anything better together tonight. Obviously Canyonlands National Park again.
Song of the Day: I can’t stop listening to Joanna Newsom. I became obsessed with her new album Ys a few weeks ago, and now I’m back to her previous album, The Milk-Eyed Mender. Bridges and Balloons is the first track off of Mender, and features the exquisite harp work and bizarre vocal stylings that has made Newsom one of the most respected artists in independent music. I’m pretty sure I could listen to her play harp all day long. If you don’t know her, give the song at least 5 listens and you’ll start to understand. By the 10th, you’ll be hooked.
Regardless of what you think of its lack of inspiration, these Canyonlands shots are really amazing in how dwarfed they make you feel. I especially like the last one with the cloud cover, but the orange of the rock really draws you in to how majestic and beautiful they are.
