Primer Gray is the Color
When You're Done Dying

This is my favorite image I’ve posted in quite a while. I feel such an isolation from color and life in the city (though I’m sure many of you disagree). And when something like a Target (the Wal-Mart of the future) advertisement infuses a scene with color, it seems to suck the color and life from everything around it. This image of some people milling about the light rail station captures that and creates a really strong, sad emotional response for me. I’ll take a forest over a city street any day.
On a slightly more uplifting note, this picture of Chewbacca throwing out a ceremonial first pitch is joyous.

Tulls something I especially love about this picture is the fact that the bulls-eyes in the Target ad seem to contribute to the chaotic, all over the place feel of the scene. Almost like this ad has come in and started to physically attack the onlookers. And a very important thing you didn’t mention in the Chewy photo is that he’s not just throwing out the first pitch, he’s throwing it to an EWOK. Which makes it all the more amazing.

I try to understand your mood and your statement about this photo. I don’t really like citys at all, maybe cause I live in a more rural region. Great citys, and esp. places with lots of people like stations or big mall have an offensive appeal to me, so I avoid them if I can (and I’ll never do street photographing cause of that).
Beside your statement the picture looks very crisp with it’s strong colors and contrasts. But it’s also transporting another message for me. You’ve described it with the sucking colors, I agree. And it shows that artifical colors (and not only them) may overhelming the human anima in a way that appeals kinda surreal, but it’s reality.
For me, it’s a really great documentation with a strong impression.

WOW, I like this one! At first I thought it was the colour, then the composition, then the ”frozen” people… Well, I simply like it for more than 1 reason!
