As I’ve mentioned before, color is an amazing thing. Situations with extreme color, like this shot from earlier this year, are certainly dazzling to the eye. Unfortunately, the color often drowns out the shape of the subject (admittedly, in that older photo, the color was the subject, but I will assume you get the idea). In this case, I wanted to take the color out to focus on the amazing shape of this flower, and I am rather pleased with the result… an almost abstract image of a simple everyday scene.
