Once It's Lost, You Know
We'll Never Have It Back

This is another shot from the Canyonlands (obviously). I felt lucky that day to have such complementary clouds. Of course, the sunset turned out to be garbage, but the hour before it was pretty awesome.

One of the most amazing things about vistas like this one at Grand View Point is that it makes you feel small. It makes your problems feel small and it makes you feel like all the things that bother you don’t really mean that much. Or it just makes you feel futile and selfish. Depends on the day.

Sparrow House’s When I Am Gone is an acoustic folk song that is stunning in its simplicity. The solo moniker of Voxtrot’s Jared Van Fleet, Sparrow House released the Falls EP last year from which this track is taken. One acoustic guitar and a two-layered voice is all it takes for Van Fleet to craft an introspective song featuring a rich sonic backdrop. If you enjoy Elliott Smith, I’d be stunned if you didn’t enjoy this too. Good for listening when you feel small, regardless of which side of the introspective spectrum that minuteness lies.

wow… this is well framed, the spalsh of colours from the canyon do well to offset the drab sky
