How Far Will I Go?

Okay, I lied a little bit. I won’t be posting any of the photos from the national parks until Tuesday. Instead, today I will present another image from my parents’ house. This fence is on one of the neighboring ranches up on the Mesa, and it seems to go on forever. I’ll eventually post an image of the fence on Ralph Lauren’s property (which supposedly cost more than the GNP of Belgium to build), but I don’t find his quadrillion dollar fence to be nearly as cool as these zig-zag fences that are found all over the ranches around Telluride. There’s no shortage of space out here, eh?
Fittingly for this image because I took this shot after a 10-inch snowfall and on one of the coldest, most blustery days in recent memory, today’s song of the day is all about snow. Hurley is a harmony-rich, finger-picked track from Pinback’s 1999 eponymous album. Unfortunately for me, it reminds me of the winter after I graduated college when I was doing retail work in a liquor store while searching for my desired job. Holy garbage was that terrible. But despite that, this is one of my favorite winter songs, ripe with beautiful vocals and layered guitar.
Oh, and go Pats!
Very nice colours and compo as well!
Great color and perspective in this. Nice shot.
