Evidence of Presence

There are a few hundred elk that wander around the mesa here near my parents’ house outside of Telluride. The males will often rub their antlers on the aspens to relieve their growing pains, and this is the evidence one can find all over the aspen groves.
I know I’ve written about this song before, but Yo La Tengo’s I Feel Like Going Home is perfect. I could write many paragraphs about this song and what it means to me and why I find it so powerful, but this is a song that is best left up to you to discover.

I love the grove of birches in the background. It immediately reminded me of the woodcut ”Birches” by Neil Welliver.

Do you sometimes see an elk? Anyway, fantastic colours and light!
Great colors, details and textures here.
