Birds Make Good Neighbors

This is a Birds of Paradise flower, which must be one of the most commonly photographed flowers… they contain so much character. I wanted to present a different view of it, and as a result, I eschewed the color in favor of black and white. Most photos will focus on the colors of this flower, outstanding though they may be, but I wanted to draw the eye to the elegant shape with a dreamlike aura.
