A Strange Visitor

We had an unusual visitor to Toyon Bay yesterday. A cattle egret, very common to Hawaii but not so much to our little island, stopped by for a visit. I am quite pleased with this image, so please feel free to comment, critique, and express your opinion below.
Song of the Day: Burial - Archangel
I don’t know what dubstep is, and I don’t really care all that much. I don’t know who Burial is (no one knows who the anonymous artist is), but I don’t particularly care. As a matter of fact, I don’t even know how much I like this song. It is, however, almost universally critically accalaimed as a major step forward in music. I’m not sure about that, but I do think it’s pretty interesting. Give it a listen and decide for yourself.
nice image, creepy and beautiful. i dont get the burial thing, really. not particularly in this song, but alot of the stuff is dark emotions mixed with club-style dance beat, so i just find it really odd. i dont see the hype though. good photo for the artist.
Dude, this is so cool. Not only is it interesting and artistic, but technically, you did a great job too. I never knew there was a cattle egret…
love the pic. hate the song
Wow. Very surreal. And freaky. Might have a nightmare about it.
amazing detail on the Egrets - the talons look a little too human which is disturbing , love the shot - and the music is definitely disturbing (or nervewracking) - time to pull out some music from the Woodstock generation …please?
Thanks, all. I was very pleased with this image as well. I also expected that the image would go over better than the song. More good stuff to come.
Another great picture with perfect lighting. Are you sure you didn’t have this egret in a studio?
it looks like it is planning out some evil scheme :)
but it is gorgeous. how do you shoot it without it flying away? what an obedient animal!
A cattle egret? That’s amazing! This shot is surreal, T… and a little creepy for some reason. Nice work!
