A Day Once Dawned And It Was Beautiful

This is the same beautiful sea lion from this image. As I mentioned in the comments for that image, she was exhausted from feeding, and this stretching display was her “fight or flight” reaction to seeing Nora and I approach her. She promptly went back to sleep after this shot was taken, which allowed me to take the shot posted previously. Unfortunately, an algal bloom in the Los Angeles area is causing the bioaccumulation of domoic acid which is poisoning our sea lions and endangered brown pelicans… the onslaught on our oceans is neverending.
This is a fantastic weekend picture. That’s exactly how I feel when I wake up with the sun coming through my window after sleeping in on saturday morning. I don’t know if you consciously waited for the water line to position itself or not, but either way, I think it’s in the perfect spot. Nice composition, nice colors, nice feeling. Well done, sir.
