Watercolours Into the Ocean

I took this image ages ago.  At least it feels like a long time ago…  a month or so?  This old man was painting a picture of the bay right at the Catalina isthmus off of the town of Two Harbors.  I took his implied advice today and relaxed down at the shore and played guitar.  Really good plan, especially with a busy brain.  Speaking of which, anyone hear the song “Rubies” off of Destroyer’s new album?  Pretty awesome.
Anyway, I like the simplicity of this image.  I also like the gradient of the sky, even though the palm leaves can be a little hard to distinguish from the sky (though on my computer monitor it’s not so bad - hopefully that’s the same for you, kind reader).  As always, I welcome your comments, positive or negative.
