The Rainy Season #2
Tully Rohrer
February 28th, 2008
It’s that time of year again. Lots of green… and the wildflowers are blossoming. When I first arrived on the island over two years ago, it looked like this. For the last year and half, though, it’s been brown and, since the fire, black. The green is a great change. Good for sunny naps.
This outcropping is informally called Barnacle Rocks, and you can see Mark, Ashley, Kelly, Nicho, Amanda, and Melinda on the summit.
Song of the Day: Red Fox Grey Fox - Up With Mittens, Down With Gloves
Did Rilo Kiley’s 2007 release Under the Blacklight leave you feeling like you were just force-fed aural refuse? If it did, try this track. Armed with a sassy female lead singer and the more intelligent and less banal instrumentation of Rilo Kiley’s earlier albums, Red Fox Grey Fox might just make you trade in your gloves for mittens.
