The Dying Day Blushing in the Sky

This is a view over the Mill District from the Central Avenue bridge, with the “mighty” Mississippi River flowing under the Stone Arch Bridge. An interesting fact: the Minnesota River is one of the primary contributors to the Mississippi River’s pollution. So much, in fact, that much of the blame for the Dead Zone in the Gulf of Mexico at the Mississippi’s outflow falls on the pollution from the Minnesota River and the state of Minnesota. That’s fairly ridiculous, considering the River passes 9 other states before it reaches the Gulf of Mexico. Talk about not protecting your neighbors downstream; she’s more “sad” than “mighty” these days.
