Shut Up I Am Dreaming

This image became very dreamlike as a result of a thirty second exposure and a particularly windy dusk on the backside of Catalina. The waves flattened the water out over the thirty seconds, and the moon is responsible for the white shimmer/streak on the water. Let me lament yet again the non-functional auto focus in nighttime photography, coupled with the complete inability to see through the viewfinder of the Canon 300D for manual focusing. I wanted to punt my camera through my bedroom window when I saw how out-of-focus this image was. Perturbing. However, I’ve not had any time to shoot anything else, so as frustrating as this image is, I will stick with it (and I still think it’s pretty cool). I’ll have to shoot some similar images that don’t perturb me.
The moonlight on the water is fantastic!
it’s a very dreamlike photo, i like the scenery.
one note, try to focus manually, @ 18mm it’s easy to set the focus to infinity, you know the horizontal 8. in most cases this works fine
