Just Because You Feel It
Doesn't Mean It's There

I’m pretty excited about this image- I worked hard for this one, and it came out just how I’d hoped. I did some more trespassing on Monday, and I broke into a condemned, boarded-up building adorned only with graffiti reading “Kill for Crack”. This was in the basement, which felt like serial killer territory complete with layer upon layer of dust and someone’s leftover items. I couldn’t help but create my own history of the building, but nothing short of terrifying came to mind, and I think that that sense of isolation and creepiness is apparent in the photograph.

I really like the title, it was exactly what I was thinking when I looked at the photo. You’re right, there really is a sense of isolation and emptiness, but the ladder and tools (or whatever) against the back wall make it feel like there’s someone waiting just around the corner, or that someone’s left the stuff there but will be right back. Its that feeling that makes the title you gave the shot so perfect.
