First Impressions of Earth

This is one of my favorite images in a long time. This image perfectly captures a moment of the purest innocence, the kind that returns when you see the world as though you had never seen it before. The blonde streaks, the thoughtful gaze - I explore tide pools numerous times every week, but, then, there are people that spark your curiosity and foster your childlike enthusiasm. Those people can change your day with their liveliness, and your life with their friendship. To explore a tide pool with Nora Swinburne is to see the world the way it should be seen… that every day is a gift full of wonder, with fate as malleable as clay, approached with the mirth and reverence that we wish would constantly be with us. We all should be so fortunate.

This image is also exemplary of why I love black and white photography. The color version of this image is pleasant enough, but the color distracts from the shape of the rocks and the perfect simplicity of the composition.
