A Yesterdaydream

This is a shot of an abandoned factory belonging to the Pillsbury Dough company in downtown Minneapolis. This shot is the bane of my existence - no matter what I tried, I could not get the shot to feel symmetrical. Between the intricacies of the building and the distortion from my 18mm lens, this was the best I could do. Despite that frustration, I love the feel of this shot - I think it’s clear that it’s abandoned just looking at it.
And I love it because usually when you hear ”pillsbury” you think cute wee dough boy but in this picture - especially since its in black and white - you see ”PILLSBURY” like some imposing voice over a loudspeaker. Its fabulous.
wow, give the fat kid a camera and look where he goes.
It says, ”Rise.” Don’t be so harsh on your effort; I think
it is terrific.
I love this shot because it’s not symmetrical.
